COVID-19 Update

We are resuming a scaled down GraceKids for a season so we can serve parents and little ones, but do so in a responsible way given our current limitations of space and  available volunteers.

At this time we are having classes for children Nursery through age 5.  We are using our largest classrooms so that we can distance as much as possible.  Drop off begins 10 minutes before the service, and classes last for the duration of our meeting.

We sterilize all toys and surfaces in the GraceKids classrooms each week.  We also fog all building surfaces with a plant based, EPA-registered bactericide, virucide, tuberculocide and fungicide that contains no harmful chemicals.  In addition, we recently installed ionizers on all air handlers to kill airborne contaminants and keep them from circulating in the building.

Like our main auditorium, masks are available* for those in GraceKids but they will not be required.  (*The CDC discourages mask use for children under 2.)

If you prefer to keep your children with you, we have multiple seating options available.  In addition to seating in the main auditorium (where masks are optional), we also have set aside the balcony and the multi-purpose room as spaces where masks are required (so anyone wishing to wear a mask for the duration of the service may do so in proximity to others also masked for the duration).  We have coloring sheets available each week and invite you to bring your own creative tricks and tools to keep them occupied during the meeting.

We ask all parents to help make their children aware of steps they can take to not spread germs, and encourage you to keep a close eye on their activity before and after the service.

If you are sick, have been sick, or have had a sick member of your household in the past 7 days, please refrain from gathering with us in person as an act of love to those that are most vulnerable to the more serious effects of the virus.  Instead, please join us via live stream. Thank you!

Gracekids

GraceKids is available during the sermon portion of our meeting for infants who sit unassisted through 9 years old. The 3-9 year olds all start together for a time of singing, puppets, or a lesson from one of our pastors.  After this time each class heads to their individual classroom where your child’s activities will vary depending upon their age, but they’ll each be taught the same lesson from Scripture in a way appropriate for their age.

We use the Gospel Story Curriculum to help kids see how all of Scripture points to Jesus.  Keeping the lesson the same across all ages is to serve parents who want to discuss the lesson together as a family. Corresponding children’s Bibles and devotional books are also available at the Resource Center in the lobby to carry those discussions on throughout the week.

Parents or legal guardians are the only ones who can drop-off or pick-up their children. You will be given a tag at our “Mission Control” desk with a unique number so we can contact you during the message if your child needs you, and to identify you as the only person allowed to pick up your child.

On the first Sunday of each month, children 10-12 years old are also invited to participate in their own class, called Truth-seekers.

*All volunteers serving in GraceKids are members at RGC, and have had been cleared by South Carolina and National background checks.
